Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Williamsburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The project requires providing all management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, consumables, and supplies necessary to complete improvements to the boat ramp at Brickyard Landing Park. The work includes, but is not limited to, demolishing the existing boat ramp, grading and installing bed stone and a new concrete boat ramp, and removing and repaving damaged asphalt areas. An Addendum will be issued by James City County Purchasing. The goal of this project is to provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, consumables, and supplies necessary to complete the boat ramp improvements. The work includes, ut is not limited to, the demolition of the existing boat ramp; grading and installation of bed stone and a new concrete boat ramp; and removal and repaving of damaged asphalt areas. 6.1 The Contractor shall coordinate with the County's Park Operations Manager to develop and maintain a work schedule for the project. 6.2 Contractor shall install a temporary cofferdam and dewater the work area as required to perform the work. 6.3 The Contractor shall demolish the existing boat ramp, properly dispose of all debris, and construct a new castin-place concrete boat ramp. 6.4 Contractor shall grade the ramp and install properly compacted bed stone. 6.5 New concrete ramp shall be 20 feet by 60 feet by 6 inches thick and shall be reinforced with half inch ( 1/2 ") rebar installed in a 6-inch square pattern. Expansion joints shall be installed at a minimum of 12 feet apart. 6.6 The Contractor shall remove the damage asphalt area and repave the affected area, approximately 20 feet by 20 feet by 2 inches thick. The area shall be graded and a properly compacted subgrade installed prior to asphalt placement. 6.7 Refer to the Attachment for the designated work area. 6.8 The Contractor shall coordinate all work schedules and site activities with the Park Operations Manager and Project Manager. 6.9 The Contractor shall notify James City County's Project Manager, as identified in the Areas to Be Addressed, at the beginning of each workday when work will be performed in a project area and again upon completion of work in that area. If the Project Manager is unavailable, a voicemail message shall be left. Notifications shall include the Contractor's company name, telephone number, and the location where work will be performed or has been completed that day. 6.10 All work and materials shall comply with the most current edition of the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) standards. 6.11 These documents are not intended to be all-inclusive of all safety, code, and regulatory requirements. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and standards, including but not limited to the following: 1. Virginia Department of Labor, Virginia Occupational Safety, and Health (VOSH) regulations. 2. Virginia Department of Transportation - Road and Bridge Standards. 3. Manual on Uniformed Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. 4. Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) 6th edition of the Hampton Roads Regional Construction Standards (HRRCS) 6.12 Under no circumstances shall the contract extend more than 60 calendar days beyond the Notice to Proceed. Once the work has commenced, it shall proceed continuously until satisfactory completion. 6.13 All vendors shall be properly licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. All vendor site supervisors assigned to this project shall have a minimum of three (3) years experience in similar work. A qualified site supervisor shall be present at all times during construction activities.
