Sealed bids are requested for the New Forrestal Elementary School project in North Chicago, IL, specifically for Bid Package 1 - Excavation. Bids must be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope clearly marked with the project and bid package information. The bid must include a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount, payable to North Chicago School District 187. All documents and information required by the bidding instructions must be included. Incomplete, late, or non-conforming bids will not be accepted. The successful bidder must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, including prompt payment of applicable prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics, and is responsible for additional costs if wage rates change. Compliance with Illinois statutory requirements for labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, is also required. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in whole or part, and will award to the lowest responsible bidder based on conformity with specifications, delivery, quality, and serviceability.
