The Occoquan Greenway Trail -Segment 6 Bridge project is a heavy civil / parks infrastructure improvement for Prince William County, Virginia, intended to close a missing trail connection and improve public access along the Occoquan Greenway. The work consists primarily of design, fabrication, and installation of a new prefabricated steel pedestrian bridge over Hooes Run, along with associated site, trail, and restoration improvements. The bridge will be supported on new concrete abutment foundations and integrated into the existing trail system. Key elements of the project include: Contractor-provided delegated design for a 135-foot long by 10-foot wide prefabricated steel pedestrian truss bridge, subject to County and Engineer review Construction of cast-in-place concrete abutments and foundations Installation of a temporary vehicular stream crossing to facilitate construction activities Construction of a temporary access road from Old Bridge Road Design and installation of permanent utility shoring systems to protect existing Prince William Water utilities Site clearing, grading, and trail tie-ins on both sides of the bridge Erosion and sediment control, riprap installation, and environmental protection measures Installation of chain-link fencing and a lockable access gate to maintain utility access Landscaping and restoration of disturbed areas Separate site cleanup and trail restoration work at 12414 Colby Drive, Woodbridge, VA The project is governed by Virginia Prevailing Wage (Heavy) requirements and is scheduled for 150 calendar days to Substantial Completion, with an additional 30 days for Final Completion, beginning within 15 days of Notice to Proceed.
