Site work for a mixed-use development in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a 39,600-square-foot sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
In general, the work consists of new storm sewer installation and replacement of the 'cherry grit' balustrade sidewalks next to the State Capitol. Approximately 39,600 square feet of 'cherry grit' sidewalk will be removed and replaced. Storm sewer improvements include approximately 1,900 lineal feet of 8 and 12-inch diameter PVC storm sewers and 5,000 lineal feet of 6-inch perforated underdrain. Other curb, pavement, and turf removals and replacements to support the installation of the storm sewers and restoration of the area are included in the project work scope. All potential bidders must be certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $100,000. All bids received from contractors who are not certified will be rejected. This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor, who will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP bidders. If a project does not include any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire protection divisions of work, DFD will bid one bid package for all work to general prime contractors. Sealed bids must be submitted either as a PDF file via the eBuilder Bidding Portal, by US Mail or third-party delivery to the State of Wisconsin, Administration Building, 7th Floor, 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, Wisconsin 53703, or by hand delivery to the drop box labeled SEALED BIDS ONLY at the same location. The bidder is responsible for the bid being delivered to the indicated location or submitted via the eBuilder Bid Portal before the time specified. Third-party delivery is at the bidder's risk. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Question Deadline 03/12/2026 Bidders shall bring inadequacies, omissions or conflicts to the Architect/Engineer attention at least ten (10) days before MEP bidding commences.
