All questions are due by Friday, March 6th at 5:00 p.m.The project will include the interior renovation of Jeter Primary and Morris Avenue Intermediate Schools. New flooring and paint will comprise the majority of the scope. Existing kitchens and closets will not be included. Some spaces will be included as alternates. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the architect or copies thereof. All bidders must show evidence of their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference by General Contractor bidders is mandatory. Pre-qualification requirements: A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Opelika City Schools Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. Bidders must demonstrate experience and ability to perform the necessary work, submit a Contractor's Qualification Statement (AIA A305), meet statutory licensor requirements, have bonding capacity over $5,000,000, have a minimum of five years of successful history as an approved, authorized, or licensed General Contractor, show successful current experience in projects of similar size and scope, and submit a list of the proposed contractor's team including subcontractors. Joint ventures must qualify solely on the strength of the principal firm's qualifications. Notarized Contractor's Qualification Certificates ("Application for Contractor Pre-Qualification") must be submitted with any request to obtain bid documents by the specified deadline.
