Demolition and renovation of a municipal facility in Gretna, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12,696-square-foot municipal facility; and for the demolition of a municipal facility.
The proposed bid provides for improvements of the 12,696 SF Gretna marketplace located on Huey P. Long Avenue between 3rd and 4th Street neutral ground. Work will include demolition, electrical and structural work as described in the project drawings and specifications. Bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents. Bids will be received on a lump sum price basis as described in the Contract Documents. All work is to commence within 30 days after the Date of Contract, with completion required within 120 calendar days after the Owner's Notice to Proceed. Bidders must obtain a contractor's license from the State of Louisiana prior to submitting a bid. The work is classified as Category IV, Municipal and Public Works Construction. Only contractors with these classifications, a Louisiana license, and in good standing with the State of Louisiana may submit bids. Bids received from contractors without this classification will not be opened. Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the total Bid must accompany each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond guaranteeing faithful performance and payment of all bills and obligations arising from the contract. Sureties must meet qualifications in the Contract Documents. Bidders must attend a mandatory prebid conference to discuss the project. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of 45 days after the date fixed for opening bids. The City of Gretna reserves the right to reject all bids and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids. Doc Notes: On other sets of documents furnished to prime bidders, the deposit less $25.00 will be refunded upon return of the documents in good condition no later than ten calendar days after receipt of bids. Good condition is defined as free of all pencil, pen, and other marks. All sets furnished to subcontractors and suppliers are non-refundable. Question Deadline 03/04/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Architect in writing. Questions received less than seven calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids will not be answered
