The work generally consists of interior renovations including new flooring, walls, doors, lighting, electrical, bathroom fixtures, and wall and ceiling finishes. All contractors and subcontractors listed in each bid must be properly registered with the City of Portage as a condition of being awarded the project. No bidder may withdraw their proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. Portage Township reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and bids shall remain in full force and effect during this time. Portage Township further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Portage Township or to reject any and all bids. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 3:00 pm local time on February 19, 2026, at the Bonner Senior Center, 5800 Lexington Ave, Portage, IN. Representatives from the owner and engineer will be present to discuss the project and answer questions. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting. A virtual option will be available. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to Portage Township or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2009) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. E-Verify Affidavit and compliance with Portage Township's Responsible Bidder's Resolution is required. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to E/A in writing. Questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening of bids may not be answered
