The City is seeking up to five consulting firms to provide multi-disciplinary engineering consulting services to support the design and construction of new siphon infrastructure at existing crossings to improve system redundancy. Tasks vary for each project and typically involve field assessments, civil engineering analysis, creation of engineering reports and drawings, approvals, procurement preparation and support, and construction. The work also includes the design of control structures to improve the transfer of flow between siphons for shutdowns, ensuring operational flexibility and system integrity. Redundancy will be introduced by constructing additional siphons alongside existing ones to reduce the risk of service interruptions during failures or maintenance needs. The City operates multiple wastewater siphons and crossings critical to its linear utility infrastructure, conveying wastewater across barriers such as rivers and LRT corridors.
