Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Tempe, Arizona. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
The purpose is to create a contract with a qualified team to provide Design Build Construction Services for design, preconstruction, and construction services for a High Intensity Innovation Center for up to 1500 middle school students (grades 6-8), replacing the Fees College Preparatory Middle School. The project site is approximately 18 acres at 1600 E. Watson Dr., Tempe, AZ. The Owner will use a 2-phase Progressive Design Build contract with an approximate budget of $96,000,000 (excluding FF&E) funded via 2025 Bond Funds. The new facility will move away from traditional classrooms, providing large, flexible spaces for specialized, hands-on work, enabling rapid reconfiguration and supporting industry partnerships. Responding teams must demonstrate their ability to manage the technical and operational complexity of the project while minimizing disruption to ongoing student learning, and experience beyond traditional K–12 construction is encouraged, especially from industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, and other high-performance sectors.
