The project consists of upgrading the existing asphalt and concrete walkways within the Kennedy Park property. The work includes soil erosion and sediment control measures; removal of existing granite block or concrete curb and replacement with approximately 100 lineal feet of standard concrete curb; removal of approximately 11,000 square feet of existing concrete sidewalks, slabs, and driveway aprons; construction of approximately 250 square feet of 6-inch thick reinforced concrete sidewalk/apron; construction of approximately 2,500 square feet of 4-inch thick reinforced concrete sidewalk with cast-in-place handicapped sidewalk ramp delineations; construction of approximately 2,200 square yards of new 8-foot-wide HMA walkway with dense graded aggregate sub-base, HMA base and surface course material; construction of approximately 6,000 square yards of new 8-foot or 10-foot-wide HMA walkways including removal and disposal of existing asphalt walkways, aggregate sub-base, and HMA base/surface material; furnishing and installation of approximately 150 square yards of HMA surface course material to overlay existing asphalt walkways; furnishing and installation of topsoil and seed; property restoration, and all other preparation, restoration, and associated work as per contract documents. Proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes with name and address of bidder, and accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a Surety Company authorized in New Jersey. Each bid must include a certified check or cash, or bid bond, in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid, but not more than $20,000. Consent of Surety from an acceptable bonding company is required. Bidders must not be suspended, debarred, or disqualified, must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor, and provide proof of business registration. Compliance with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Equal Opportunity, Worker Health and Safety Act, OSHA, and other state requirements is mandatory. The Borough reserves rights to adjust quantities, award based on funds, and reject any or all bids in its discretion.
