The project will modernize and replace the existing traffic signal infrastructure at the intersection to improve traffic operations, safety, and pedestrian accessibility, including upgrades to signal equipment and related appurtenances in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards. Work includes the removal and replacement of existing obsolete traffic signal equipment and installation of new traffic signal infrastructure, including signal poles and mast arms, LED signal heads, pedestrian signal heads, controller cabinet, detection equipment, underground conduit and wiring, associated foundations, and related appurtenances. The project will also include installation and integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components, such as advanced traffic detection, emergency vehicle preemption, and communications equipment to support centralized monitoring and operations. Additional work includes ADA-compliant pedestrian accessibility improvements, pavement markings, and traffic signage upgrades within the project limits. Controller shall include emergency vehicle preemption capability and be compatible with City ITS/communications infrastructure. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans, specifications, and applicable City, TxMUTCD, NEC, ADA, TxDOT Standard Specifications, and other federal, state, and local standards.
