The general description of work includes abandonment of an existing 8" AC waterline, approximately 1,029 linear feet long, and installation of a new 8" C900 PVC and DIP waterline of approximately the same length as the abandoned waterline offset parallel. The new waterline will need to be reconnected to three existing waterlines; one at each end of the new waterline and one along its length, with all connections to the existing waterlines being tee's. The work also includes disconnection and reconnection of 29 water services to residents' homes, flushing, disinfection, testing, and all other ancillary work as specified in the project plans and special provisions. All bids must be submitted electronically. Bidders must obtain the complete bid set through the Bid Express Vacaville website and confirm inclusion on the official plan holders list. The Contractor must possess a Class A license. Bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount is required, and the successful bidder must execute the contract, submit payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates, endorsements, and other required submittals within specified timeframes. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful bidder shall furnish Payment and Performance Bonds for 100% of the contract amount within fourteen days of the Notice of Award letter. Adherence to the State Contract Nondiscriminatory and Compliance Requirements and General Prevailing Wage Determinations is required. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to determine which proposal is in the best interest of the City.
