Sealed bids are invited for driveway apron repairs at Birmingham Fire Stations 20 and 27, located at 4825 Avenue W and 400 Huffman Rd in Birmingham, AL. Bids must be submitted to the City Architect in Room 220, Birmingham City Hall, and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Attendance at a pre-bid conference is mandatory for bidder responsiveness. For bid requirements and additional information, refer to the provided documents. All bids must be on a lump sum basis. Bids are to be submitted in duplicate on the Proposal Form provided with specifications. No pre-qualification of bidders will be conducted prior to receiving bids. The project has an estimated value of $150,000 to $250,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. While the precise goal for each phase of the City construction projects may vary from phase and year to year, the minimum goal to be used for City projects is 20 percent MBE/DBE participation. The Contractor shall submit a LUMP SUM BASE BID proposal which shall include all costs for the Birmingham Fire Stations 20 and 27 Driveway Apron Repairs, located at 4825 Avenue W Ensley Birmingham, Al 35208 and 400 Huffman Road, Birmingham, AL 35235 and all systems, services and structures as required for this project as provided in the construction documents. B. It is the intent of these documents to require the contractor to include in his bid all costs involved for the coordination of all trades to the successful completion of this project as specifically outlined, required, or reasonably implied. C. PROJECT SUMMARY: Provide all necessary labor and material to install new reinforced concrete driveway apron replacements, in front of Fire Stations #20 and #27 as shown on Drawings. Work to include reinforced concrete driveway apron on porous fill base and concrete edge curbing on both sides, with demolition and removal of the existing concrete apron, as shown on Drawings A1, A2, A3 and A4. Question Deadline 04/03/2026 Should any omission, discrepancy, ambiguity, or area in the Drawings and Specifications, or in any of the Contract Documents be discovered, or should there be any doubt as to the meaning or intent thereof, report such findings to the Architect in writing. Questions should be received by the Architect at least five (5) days prior to the date set for receiving of bids.
