Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Knoxville, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.

The work involves construction improvements for the Knoxville Municipal Airport described in general as "Construct Fuel Farm." The project will consist of the following work: mobilization, traffic control, construction staking, pavement removal, various removals and installations related to storm sewers, underdrain systems, chain link fences, excavation, subgrade preparation, installation of granular subbase, geotextile fabric, cement treated subgrade, plain and reinforced PCC pavement, PCC tank beams and cabinet slab, plain PCC pavement sidewalk, pavement marking (with and without beads), storm intakes, storm manhole casting, various pipe installations (such as 6-inch CMP, 12 inch RCP, 15 inch CMP), underdrain system completion, seeding and fertilizing, topsoiling, mulching, removal and installation of electrical cables and duct banks, power and ground cable, communication cable, overhead security light and foundation, handhole removals and relocations, electrical junction can removal, electrical handhole installation, relocation and adjustment of taxiway edge lights, underground utility locates, complete aviation fuel system (10,000 gallon Avgas and 10,000 gallon Jet-A with refueling cabinets, card reader, and electrical), and installation of pipe bollards. Bidders must file bids through QuestCDN.com before the specified deadline, accompanied by a bid bond of 5% of the bid total. Failure to execute a contract or provide the required bonds and insurance within fifteen days of bid acceptance will result in forfeiture of the bid bond. Bidders may not withdraw a proposal before the specified date. The Knoxville Municipal Airport Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality. Contractors and subcontractors must obtain tax exemption certificates from the City of Knoxville for this project. Lien waivers will be required before final payment. Work must commence as specified in the Notice to Proceed and be completed within ninety calendar days, with liquidated damages applicable for late completion. Work is subject to DBE participation requirements, Davis-Bacon Act wage and labor provisions, and other specified federal provisions and regulations governing bid and contract compliance. Preference is given to products and labor from Iowa, to the extent legally required, with contract award to the lowest responsible bidder. Question Deadline 03/04/2026
