The work involves a home kitchen renovation at one group home. Bids are invited from qualified contracting firms. The bidding requirements include submitting a guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid not exceeding $20,000, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, along with a guarantee for performance from a surety company authorized to do business in NJ. A performance bond will be required if awarded the contract. All workers must be paid prevailing wage according to NJ laws, and the contractor must comply with additional administrative and legal requirements including the Davis-Bacon Act, NJ Public Works Contractor Registration Act, NJ Business Registration, NonDiscrimination and Affirmative Action, and Statement of Corporate Ownership. Bidders are encouraged to provide opportunities for minority, women, and disadvantaged business enterprises, and must provide the maximum practicable opportunity for such entities to participate in the procurement process. The award is contingent on continued receipt of funding from Bergen County Community Development for the project. Small, minority, and women's business enterprises are encouraged to obtain specifications and compete for the contracts funded with Community Development Block Grant funds. Contract opportunities must comply with all cited federal, state, and local regulations and statutes.
