Contractor shall provide all labor, trades, equipment, components, materials, tools, and supervision necessary to replace a non-functioning fire hydrant and install a new American Darling 5-14" Fire Hydrant at USCG Air Station Clearwater. Work includes conducting a site visit and utility verification, coordinating with USCG Facility Engineering for access and safety requirements, performing utility locates, submitting product data for approval, and identifying potential interferences and job hazards. Demolition work involves identifying main water supply control and isolation valves, isolating and depressurizing the water main, excavating around the hydrant assembly, removing the existing hydrant and associated parts, and disposing of materials in accordance with regulations. Installation work consists of installing the new fire hydrant, gravel bed if required, ensuring proper burial depth, and orienting the hydrant per local and city codes. Testing requirements include flushing the service line, pressure testing per AWWA C600, flow testing the hydrant to verify leak free operation, proper drainage, adequate flow and residual pressure, and demonstrating operation to USCG Facilities. Site restoration includes backfilling excavation, restoring pavement, concrete, and landscaping to original condition or better, applying corrosion protection to exposed metal hardware as required, and painting the hydrant red. The contractor is responsible for the removal of all trash and debris from the project area off site upon completion. All work must be approved by the Contracting Officer's Representative. The government will furnish the fire hydrant, traffic flange, gate valve, and associated gaskets. Contractors shall provide all other materials, labor, equipment, permits, supervision, and quality control. The contractor shall warrant that all workmanship is free from defects for a period of one year from the date of substantial completion. Bidders are highly encouraged to inspect the site, coordinate any required access, minimize interference with facility operations, and follow all safety, security, and regulatory requirements. Prior to submitting a quote, it is mandatory to examine the scope of work and it's highly recommended to visit the facility to take field measurements, evaluations, etc. and become familiar with existing conditions under which the work will be performed. After the award of contract, a pre-conference will be held prior to starting the work at Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater.
