CONTRACTOR must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work. CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for work to be completed. Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required to comply with the intent of the WORK described in the contract documents including but not limited to: the renovation of the Matheson Hammock Park Mangrove Trail. The project includes construction of an elevated, accessible 5-foot-wide wood boardwalk designed exclusively for pedestrian use, replacing the existing 5-foot-wide at-grade asphalt walkway, which is subject to frequent seawater inundation. The elevated boardwalk will follow the current pathway alignment, modified as needed to minimize wetland and mangrove impacts and preserve existing trees, shifting closer to the parking area and rock road at each end. The boardwalk will extend from the western edge of the Red Fish parking area to the easternmost parking lot near Old Cutler Road. ADA-compliant sloped concrete access walkways (slope =5%) will be provided at both ends, with ADA-accessible benches installed at three locations. Existing signage next to the trail will be removed and replaced. The existing asphalt walkway, including the portion to the Old Cutler Road gate, will be removed. The boardwalk trail segment will measure about 4,508 feet, with a 5-foot-wide, 557-foot-long asphalt walkway installed along a portion of the existing path not replaced by boardwalk. Permits are essential. Further requirements and work details are described in the contract documents and plans. Bidders must request bid documents directly from the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. Each bid must be accompanied by a five percent (5%) bid bond or certified check, and if awarded, the contractor must provide a 100% Performance and Payment bond.
