This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Denver, Colorado. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Reference Number 0000413342 Bid Intent Not Available Nearly 60% of material thrown in the trash at DEN is either recyclable or compostable, and 30% of material in the recycling stream is not actually recyclable. It is estimated that roughly 50% of the recyclables and 80% of the food waste that is sent to the landfill from DEN comes from DEN's concession partners. The Waste Valet program was designed to address the difficulties these partners face in their recycling and composting efforts due to security protocols, staff turnover, and other obstacles. The Waste Valet team will collect compostable and recyclable material from DEN's food and beverage concessions throughout the day and transport it to the appropriate disposal area. They will also conduct waste diversion trainings for concession employees, provide educational materials, and conduct regular audits of their waste streams to identify contamination and/or additional diversion opportunities. As a good steward of the environment, DEN is continually working to reduce our environmental impact, including the waste we generate. The pilot phase of the Waste Valet program that took place between May 2024-December 2025 on the B concourse, which kept over 500 tons of material out of the landfill. The data also show that concessions participating in the program divert an average of 75% of the waste they generate, as compared to 15-25% for concessions that are not participating in the program. When expanded to all three concourses and the Jeppesen Terminal, the Waste Valet will be servicing roughly 100 food and beverage concessions and is projected to help DEN compost and recycle ~1,500 tons of material per year.
