All General Contractors must visit the site and examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal. General liability and workman's compensation insurance are required. The project shall be bid excluding taxes, and bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. A certified check or bid bond payable to Morgan County Schools in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid (maximum $10,000) must accompany the proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds are required at contract signing. Contractors must be licensed as required by Alabama law, and the current license number must be displayed on the outside of the sealed proposal envelope. Project documents can be reviewed and printed from the Architect's website, and only those documents are endorsed. Addendums will be provided to entities with confirmed bidding status. Print sets must be returned in reusable condition within ten days after bid opening. Contractors are to ensure proper supervision of all work.
