Brunswick County is soliciting sealed proposals for the removal and disposal of lime residuals generated at the Brunswick County 211 Water Treatment Plant located at 4305 Southport-Supply Road SE, Southport, NC 28461. The lime residuals, classified as “Beneficial Fill,” are a byproduct of the lime softening process and have been concentrated through settling ponds and drying beds. The selected contractor will be responsible for removing and disposing of these residuals so that stockpiles remain at or below one drying bed’s worth (approximately 450 tons) and do not hamper plant operations. The County will provide loading services during regular business hours. Hauling operations must be scheduled with the facility superintendent, and billing will be based on cubic yards removed, with daily tickets provided by WTP staff. The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding disposal. Instructions to bidders include submitting a sealed proposal containing a cover letter, company information, key personnel and qualifications, subcontractor details, a detailed implementation plan and schedule, company history, references for similar projects, and proof of insurance. Contractors must also provide documentation demonstrating their ability to meet or exceed requirements, and Brunswick County may request additional financial information. Only mailed or hand-delivered proposals will be accepted.
