The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Mechanical Upgrades including, but not limited to the following a.) Replacement of existing unit ventilators. b.) Replacement of metal shelving as an accessory to the unit ventilators. c.) Associated piping replacements. d.) Electrical modifications as required for replacement unit ventilators. e.) HVAC controls. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Sealed Bid Proposals will be received for mechanical upgrades at Alexander Elementary School, Grice Middle School, and Reynolds Middle School for the Hamilton Township School District, in accordance with drawings and project manuals, together with all work incidental thereto. All bidders must use and complete all bid forms provided and comply with all requirements in the instructions and specifications. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not more than $20,000. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the project sites to ensure an equal understanding of the scope of work involved. The bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in the trade of C032 HVACR. Each bid must include proof of Contractor's DPMC classification status. Bidders and their subcontractors must be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and provide a Public Works Contractor Registration Certificate and a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate for themselves and all named subcontractors whose prices are included in the bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive in all material respects to the bid requirements.
