Lookingglass Township is seeking bids for grass mowing services at its Township Cemetery on South 4th Street in New Memphis, IL for the year 2026. The work includes mowing and trimming from April 1 through October 31, 2026, maintaining grass at approximately 3 inches, and ensuring no growth exceeds 5 inches. Trimming around all tombstones, disposing of any dead flowers, plants not on tombstones, and dead grave blankets must be done at the time of each mowing. The bidder is responsible for furnishing all equipment and supplies and may not subcontract any portion of the work. The successful bidder must have insurance for injuries and property damage, including worker's compensation insurance for employees, and provide a certificate of insurance upon contract signing. The contract will be paid monthly, with the lump sum divided by seven months. Lookingglass Township reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time for non-performance or inadequate performance. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked "Mowing Bid." No verbal bids will be accepted. Lookingglass Township reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. The Board of Trustees will decide the winning bid.
