The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum (CATPM) seeks complete Design-Build proposals from qualified proponents for major redevelopment at its historic facility at 300 Commonwealth Way, Brandon, Manitoba. Proponents are required to fully develop, price, and evaluate proposals for two redevelopment options: Option A involves remediation and stabilization of the existing 1941 hangar, including structural repairs, building systems upgrades, full accessibility improvements, hazard mitigation and maintenance of museum operations where feasible; it also mandates the design and construction of a secure, climate-considered temporary storage facility for artifacts and aircraft. Option B requires the design and construction of a new hangar-style building (with a WWII-inspired exterior aesthetic), site development, and a complete restoration repair plan for the existing hangar, including structural remediation, safety and code compliance, accessibility upgrades, integration with the new facility, and a detailed sequencing and cost plan. In both options, the Design-Builder must facilitate CATPM's decanting and transition operations by providing staging, access, protections, and construction sequencing, while CATPM conducts all physical handling and movement of collections.
