In general, the work consists of the restoration of portions of the UW Madison Lot 46 and Lot 75. The work areas of the restoration are shown in the drawings. The repairs include sealant replacement, vehicle traffic membrane removal and replacement, concrete repairs, slab on ground repairs, shoring, bearing pad replacement, structural steel reinforcement of precast tees, and related work. All potential bidders must be certified by the Department of Administration prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $100,000. Bids from non-certified contractors will be rejected. Bidding is structured as a single prime contract, with public bidding for applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection divisions first. The successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids. Sealed bids must be submitted either as a PDF via the eBuilder Bidding Portal (preferred method), by US Mail, third-party delivery, or hand delivery to the designated location. The bidder is responsible for timely delivery. A bid guarantee of 10% of the bid amount must accompany each submission. Additional instructions are provided regarding document access, submission methods, and other bid requirements. No verbal explanation or instructions will be given in regard to the meaning of the drawings or specifications during the bid period.
