Renovation of an educational facility in Oakfield, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Separate sealed proposals are requested for the Oakfield-Alabama Central School District 2023 Capital Improvement Project - Spend Down. Bids are requested for the General Trades Contract (Contract 201). Bidders are required to submit a copy of their valid NYS Department of Labor Public Work Contractor and Subcontractor Registry Certificate of Registration with their bid. A bid not accompanied by required bid security, a valid Certificate of Registration, or other required data may be rejected. Bids must be prepared in duplicate and enclosed in an envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the title of work to which the proposal relates. If submitting for more than one contract, each bid must be in a separate envelope. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, as well as a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond if awarded the contract. Bidders are not permitted to withdraw their bid for forty-five days after the bid opening. Contract documents may be obtained upon payment of a deposit and shipping fees, or viewed online. The Board of Education reserves the right to waive informalities and reject any or all bids. Bidders must also meet employment conditions and minimum wage rate requirements. Work must begin and be prosecuted diligently immediately after contracts are signed. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following but not limited to: a. Renovations to Middle School/High School i. High School Classroom Carpeting - Alternate ii. Music Wing Carpeting - Alternate iii. Nurse's Room Cabinet & Countertop iv. Faculty Room VCT & Carpeting - Alternate v. High School Boys & Girls Bathroom Renovation including Asbestos Abatement, Demolition, New Ceilings, New Tile, New Toilet Partitions, New Lighting & Electrical, New Exhaust, New Plumbing Fixtures vi. Electrical Service Entrance Update at Bus Garage RFI's are due by 5:00 P.M., local time, on March 5th, 2026. 1. Prime Contract #201 (Prime General Contractor) 1. The following documents are hereby defined as Contract Documents and are specifically included and defined as integral to each Prime Contract. 2. The Contract Documents consist of drawings, specifications, addenda noted within. 3. List of Specifications: See Project Manual Section 000110 Table of Contents SEI Design Group for Project 21-4130.1 dated February 13, 2026 All specifications are integral to All Contractors. 4. List of Drawings: See Project Manual Section 000115 List of Drawings by SEI Design Group for Project 21-4130.1 dated February 13, 2026. All Drawings included in the Drawing Index are integral to All Contractors. Note: (As pertains to) includes work within this specification section that isidentified within the contract documents as being part of this Contractors scope of work. a. All General Contractor bidders shall visit each site to verify and review existing conditions before bid submission. b. This Prime Contractor shall establish benchmarks and maintain project control and reference points. These items will be used for coordination by the other Prime Contractors for the layout of their work. c. This Prime Contractorshall provide protection against any building surface to prevent damage or staining caused by the work. d. This Prime Contractor is to provide all work associated with the installation and removal of temporary protection pertaining to their work and restoration of grounds, lawn and plantings affected by their work. e. The hardware supplier needs to coordinate with the Owner, Architect, and Construction Manager with the development of an acceptable keying schedule. f. This Prime Contractor is to provide all work associated with the installation and removal of temporary protection pertaining to their work. g. This Prime Contractor shall provide all sealants, fire rated sealants, and fire stopping associated with masonry wall systems, drywall partitions, doors, concrete floors, architectural metal work, and elsewhere, as indicated and reasonably required to assure interior fire rating and watertight exterior openings unless specified elsewhere. h. This Prime Contractor is to furnish, install and paint all new lintels and wall openings for this contract and repair finishes to matching existing. HLeCHASE 02/13/2026 21-4130.1 011000 - 12 SUMMARY i. This Contractor shall furnish and install all blocking, backing, grounds (wood and sheet metal), etc. in drywall partitions for the attachment of surface mounted items furnished by or to this Contractor. j. This Prime Contractor is responsible for replacing all damaged, abated, or missing ceiling tiles to match existing due to the course of work. k. This Prime Contractor is responsible for replacing/patching all finishes disturbed/removed by abatement. l. This Prime Contractor must provide and maintain protection to all finished surfaces, so they are not damaged during the completion of work. Fencing and/or enclosures should be constructed in a way that no students or non-authorized person may gain access to the area. Any damage to finish surfaces must be repaired to match existing by the Prime General Contractor at no additional cost to the Owner. Any dust generating masonry operations must be kept damp using a fine water mist as not to be carried to parking lots and building surfaces. m. This Prime Contractor shall furnish and install all caulking and sealing associated with their work. n. This Prime Contractor is responsible for planning and executing all work in a fashion that allows for whatever quantity of roof is removed, that an equal quantity be installed by the end of the same workday. o. Any equipment or delivery trucks and tractor trailers necessary for the work under this bid package includes traffic control both into and out of the work zone areas. The contractor for this bid package must provide flagmen to assist in controlling traffic, communicating with pedestrian and protecting District property to ensure a safe workplace. p. Payment for power and water usage to the utility company will be by the district. q. Any exhaust emissions from any equipment utilized to perform this scope of work outlined within this bid package both inside and outside of the building must employ scrubbers. If emissions are exhausted within 30 feet of a fresh air intake it must have a scrubber to avoid any fume accumulation within the building or surrounding area. r. The independent Consultant must coordinate all project monitoring and air monitoring with the Construction Manager unless otherwise directed. s. Each Prime Contractor is to provide all work associated with the installation and removal of temporary protection pertaining to their work and restoration of grounds, lawns, plantings, and building structure affected by their work. t. The Plumbing/Mechanical Contractor is responsible for all concrete cutting and patching for its work including demolition and replacement shown on the architectural drawings.
