The work involves road paving for various roads within Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County. The base bid generally consists of the following: 2,356 Tons of 9.5MM Superpave Asphalt, 180 lb/sy Wearing Course 1,254 Tons of 9.5MM Superpave Asphalt, 120 lb/sy Scratch Course 475 Tons of 9.5MM Superpave Asphalt, 180 lb/sy Leveling Course 746 Tons of PennDOT 2A Stone Shoulders 10,285 LF of 4" Double Yellow Center Lines with Glass Beads 9,370 LF of 4" Single White Lines with Glass Beads 3,266 SY of Flexible Pavement Base Replacement (8" Depth) including Milling & Transport 704 SY of Flexible Pavement Base Replacement (4" Depth) including Milling & Transport All materials must adhere to current PennDOT Publication 408 Specifications and Standards. Bidders must be PennDOT prequalified Prime Contractors and provide proof of prequalification with their sealed bid. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided by the Township. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total bid, payable to Tobyhanna Township. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price (each) within 10 days of award. PA Prevailing Wages apply to the in-place paving contract. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any/all proposals or portions thereof, to delete projects or portions depending on budgetary constraints, and to waive any technicalities deemed to be in the best interest of the Township.
