Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Vancouver, Washington. Working plans call for the remodel of a military facility; and for the renovation of a military facility.
This two-phase design-build construction renovation project addresses deferred maintenance, code compliance deficiencies, and modernization of space planning for the Western Federal Lands Highway Division Main Office building and site. The work includes renovation of existing office spaces and materials laboratory; correction of code compliance issues such as ADA accessibility, fire protection, and structural upgrades; and implementation of major utility improvements including upgrading electrical service to 480V, providing secondary water connections, and improving the stormwater management system. The project also includes renovation and reconfiguration of on-site and off-site parking areas. Prior to renovation activities, assessment and abatement of hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead-based paint, are required. The Main Office building consists of three interconnected wings constructed in 1932, 1952, and 1977, and the work will be executed using a two-phase design-build selection process.
