KCDC's intends to have the successful bidder replace the existing three-story exterior stair tower at KCDC's property called Valley Oaks, located at 3504 Oak Branch Circle in Knoxville, with new aluminum stairs meeting all applicable codes. The existing stairs, made of concrete and steel, have deteriorated to a point where they must be replaced immediately. KCDC wants a competent bidder to replace the existing stairs with new aluminum stairs so that the residents have long-lasting durable access to their apartments. Bid, payment and performance bonds are required if the bid exceeds $100,000 in value. The bidder will include all bonding costs in the base bid. Bonding requirements include: a. A bid bond from each bidder equivalent to five percent of the bid price. The bid bond must be uploaded with the bid. Bid bonds will not be returned until a contract is signed. b. Performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract price (upon award). c. All bonding companies must be listed in the Federal Register, Department of the Treasury Fiscal Service, Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies; Notice.
