*Additional documents including drawings and specifications are available from the architect.* The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities is soliciting bids for construction of the Division of Water's Home Road Water Plant project. The work includes acceptance of the existing site and completed work by the Site Preparation contractor, general clearing, tree removal, excavation, rock blasting and removal, demolition of remaining surface and subsurface structures and utilities, protecting existing surface and subsurface utilities that are to remain, removal of existing pavement and base materials, dewatering, site grading, major stormwater rerouting, and removal of site features such as fences, posts, barriers, gates, and guardrails. New construction includes facilities, structures, process and yard piping and appurtenances such as: raw water intake, pump stations, rapid mix and basin structures, ozone building, liquid oxygen storage, filter building, tanks, pumps, disinfection systems, clearwells, chemical buildings, residuals pump station, decant area, administration building and parking, carport, and guard house. Paving work includes new asphalt, concrete, and gravel pavement, curb and gutter replacement, overlays, entrance drives, and sidewalks. Electrical work includes new duct banks, switchgear to facility buildings, PV solar system and appurtenances, and installation of a perimeter security fence, plus other necessary work for contract completion according to the contract documents and City specifications. Bids must be submitted electronically. Questions regarding the bid must be emailed by the specified deadline with the project number and name in the subject. A pre-bid conference and guided site tours are organized for bidders, who must have appropriate PPE to access the active construction site. Bidders will be responsible for all information discussed during these sessions. No site access is permitted outside the scheduled tours. Most bid documents are available at the specified online portal, with secure documents accessible following provided instructions. Bidders must meet all mandatory requirements to be considered. The project is subject to a U.S. EPA DBE subcontractor goal. A Value Engineering Proposal payment is available to eligible, non-selected bidders under specified conditions.
