Renovation of a military facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
A courtesy follow-up meeting will be held on April 28, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. IQC NUMBER: DGS-23-306-IQC General Construction & Related Work The successful Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, insurance, supplies, etc. required for the asbestos abatement of ~ 2,200 square feet of floor tile and mastic, the installation of new flooring materials, and the demolition of ~ 200 square feet of storage space. The project site is located at the Fifth Regiment Armory (219 29th Division Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.) Asbestos abatement - Asbestos abatement is the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall comply with all Federal and state laws and regulations when performing and completing any abatement. A Maryland licensed /certified / accredited Contractor shall perform any needed abatement. Abated materials shall be properly disposed ofin a landfill certified by the state and Federal government to accept them. The Contractor shall supply to DGS and / or the Maryland Military Department (MMD) designee with the Chain of Custody and any other pertinent paperwork for the disposal of abated materials. Asbestos abatement oversight and projecct monitoring shall be performed by an independent Industrial Hygiene (IH) firm hired by DGS. Contractor shall be responsible for all applicable OSHA requirements (including air monitoring) for their employees. The scope ofwork includes abatement removal and proper disposal of asbestos containing floor tiles and mastic. An approved encapsulant is to be applied following the removal and cleaning of abated areas. Contractor shall install approved flooring materials after floortiles and mastic have been abated Afterremediation, visual clearance, and the drying ofencapsulants, DGS's IH firm will conduct PCM clearance air sampling. New floor mastic installed shall be Henry 430 Clear Pro Clear VCT Floor Adhesive or approved equal New floor tiles shall be Armstrong Flooring VCT 57551 / Perferct or approved equal. When the work specified hereunder connects to any existing work, the Contractor shall perform all necessary alterations, cutting, fitting, etc., ofthe existing work as may be necessary or required to make satisfactory connections between new and existing work, and shall leave the completed work in a finished and workmanlike condition and operation to the satisfaction ofthe MMD and DGS. The PROJECT CLASSIFICATION for this solicitation is: "B" ($100,000 to $500,000) *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
