“The owner has determined a prequalified list of general contractors. A timeline for construction has not yet been established.” This project is generally located from approximately Corbin Court at the Dane County Regional Airport to Lien Road/Thierer Road intersection in the City of Madison with a small portion passing through the Town of Burke. The Northeast Interceptor serves the Village of Waunakee, Village of Deforest, Village of Windsor, Town of Burke and City of Madison. The portion of the Northeast Interceptor to be rehabilitated as part of the project was constructed in 1969 (NEI Truax Extension) The existing pipe contains surface and joint defects, and the existing manholes have high levels of microbial induced corrosion both of which warrant rehabilitation. In 2020 the NEI Truax Extension Relief interceptor was constructed to address capacity concerns south of PS 13 FM on Rieder Rd (MH10-145) to Lien Rd/Thierer Road intersection (MH10-425). That project sized the relief pipe to be able to accommodate all of the upstream flow entering MH10-145 during the planned rehabilitation of the NEI Truax Extension interceptor. The Northeast Interceptor - Truax Extension Rehabilitation project will plan to rehabilitate a portion of the existing Northeast Interceptor pipe and manholes. The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District is requesting proposals for surveying, hazardous materials investigation, and work zone management engineering consulting services associated with the Northeast Interceptor Truax Extension Rehabilitation. The scope of services is intended to be completed in several phases, with this request seeking an engineering consultant to perform surveying, hazardous materials investigation, and work zone management design services. A future amendment for construction services will be addressed at a later date. Bidders should refer to the RFP for specific proposal requirements, content, and evaluation criteria.
