General Contracting and Construction Services for Roof and Other Repairs at the Historic Kaka'ako Pumping Station located at 653 Ala Moana Blvd. Honolulu, Oahu. AREA OF WORK AND STAGING AREA The staging area for this Project shall be contained within the entire property premises as shown in Exhibit A. The Contractor may also barricade certain areas of work within the Premises that do not impede or pose a safety hazard to pedestrian or vehicle traffic. The Contractor shall comply with all standards and best practices for work within state and city rights-of-way. In the event that the right of way (roadway or sidewalk) is impacted by the work area, all materials, tools, equipment, and supplies shall be cleared from the right of way areas at the end of each working day. The area of work shall be cleaned, cleared, and free of any waste or debris at the end of each working day This property includes several structures which were used as part of the former operations of the Historic Kakaako Pumping Station located on Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Historic Kakaako Pumping Station originally included the "1900 Pump House" (Building "A") structure and the "Screen House" (Building "B") structure. Building A includes an attached 60- foot-tall chimney/vent stack. Building A formerly housed the steam powered pumps which carried the sewage out to sea via a force main. In 1940, a second "New" Pump House also known as "1940 Pump House" (Building "C") was constructed. The City and County of Honolulu ceased its use of the Historic Kakaako Pumping Station in 1955, when a new pumping station southwest and adjacent to the Historic Kakaako Pumping Station was built. In 2016, Building A was renovated for use as a community resource center (formerly known as Na Kupuna Makamae Center) for educational classes, workshops, and office space for a local non-profit organization
