Reference number: 20125931 Deadline for receipt of complaints 2026-03-11 Expected duration of the contract without options (in months) 12 Description The municipality of Pointe-des-Cascades has two (2) well catchments for its drinking water supply, namely wells P1_2003 and P2_2005. These wells are each equipped with standard submersible pumps. They have already been operated at individual flow rates between 17 and 18 L/s (1,470 to 1,550 m3/d) while the maximum daily volume drawn from each of the two (2) capture structures is in the order of 700 m3/day. The operation of wells at a flow rate higher than demand involves frequent stopgaps and starts, high drawdowns, partial dewatering of the aquifer thus causing the oxidation and precipitation of iron and manganese, the clogging of fractures in the rock formation, a loss of efficiency in the pumping wells as well as premature wear on the pumps. The raw water supply system, in its current configuration, therefore requires a modernization of pumping equipment which must allow the modulation of the pumping rate inside the wells according to the water demand. To do this, the installation of a variable speed drive at each of the pumps is requested in the project. The drinking water distribution system consists of two (2) centrifugal pumps, with a capacity of 250 gUSpm and a pressure of 42.7 meters (140').
