The lead Design-Builder will be expected to provide concurrent design and construction turnkey activities for this project resulting in finished, fully usable gate lifting system that satisfies all project requirements and contract terms. All work shall comply with the requirements of federal, state, and local laws, engineering standards and other regulations that may apply. The Design-Builder, as the sole responsible source for total project compliance and construction related performance (including design, and construction services), testing services (with the exception of Special Inspections by Owner), trade contractors and trade supplier contracts. Scope of Work The following is a preliminary scope of work that may be modified during contract negotiations with the selected Design-Build Team. Site Inventory and identify scope of dam rehabilitation 1. Site investigations, including survey, subsurface utility investigations, geotechnical investigations, environmental engineering, to verify existing conditions if necessary. 2. Preliminary evaluation of proposed dam rehabilitation issues related to materials needed for the project, equipment needed and provide proposed project timeline, constructability, time, labor and scheduling factors related to project cost. Draft and complete engineering design and plans for the dam lift gate system 1. Prepare any necessary design plans for Macon Bibb County Staff consideration. 2. Plans will include: Diagram or written description of all components needed for the system. A diagram or description of all electrical and mechanical requirements. Specifics to address the dam gate lift requirements. The components for the dam lift gate system must perform the following functions. Must automatically maintain a normal pool elevation of 360 feet. o Must be capable of providing notifications of activities (Gate Opening and Closing, Power outages, etc.) o Alerts for all Malfunctions o Must provide a log of all dam activity. o Have the ability for monthly exercise of the emergency generator o Provide an alarm to notify downstream fishermen prior to the gate opening with sufficient time to clear. o Replace the existing lift motors with new lift motors for the Dam gate lift system. o Bidder must provide training on the new system and a written Standard Operation Procedure
