Replaces furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center IPU, including the removal and replacement of all sinks, toilets, locksets, patient room doors, and ceiling systems in patient-accessible areas. Work includes installing new gypsum ceilings with tamper-resistant access panels, mental-health-grade ceiling panel systems, ligature-resistant stainless-steel toilets and sinks, ligature-resistant locksets, and barrier-resistant interior wood doors with integrated wicket doors, view panels, and specialized hardware. Tasks involve replacing ACT ceiling systems with approved secure ceiling types, ensuring sound control and tamper resistance, updating HVAC diffusers and suspension systems as required, and providing properly sized and secure maintenance access doors. Door work includes removing, reinstalling, and recertifying over-the-door alarms; installing anti-ligature hardware, privacy mortise locksets, flush-mount pulls, beveled edges, and protection plates; and ensuring all components meet required fire-rating criteria. Construction must be completed in six phases to maintain emergency egress and access to the isolation room, with all wall repairs finished to match existing materials. Work shall comply with construction specifications, drawings, and safety requirements, and be performed during normal business hours unless otherwise approved.
