This is a Request for Proposal inviting submissions for Transportation Biennial Bridge Condition Study Engineering Services for Bridge and Culvert Inspection. The Regional Municipality of Niagara is seeking a consultant to conduct a comprehensive appraisal of its structures classified as bridges and major culverts under the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code. The scope includes maintaining safe structure conditions, protecting and prolonging the structures' useful life, providing a detailed inventory, identifying repair and rehabilitation needs, and providing short- and long-term condition assessments for 219 regional structures (130 bridges, 89 culverts). The consultant will perform detailed visual inspections, produce summary recommendation reports for capital planning, and develop life-cycle management plans including maintenance and rehabilitation schedules, replacement analysis, and life-cycle costs. The inspections are to ensure structure stability, public safety, and prioritization of repairs and maintenance. The primary inspections are scheduled for 2026, with a possible additional term in 2028.
