Site work for a water / sewer project in Epworth, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a levee.
The project consists of the Jacoby Drive Storm Drainage Channel Improvements. The scope includes clearing and grubbing, 1 L.S.; excavation, Class 10, 1,000 C.Y.; erosion stone salvage, stockpile and place, 600 C.Y.; Flexamat Standard, installed, 1,420 S.Y.; revetment stone, Class E, 30 Ton; topsoil import and spread, 200 C.Y.; permanent seeding and mulching, Type 2, 0.8 Acre; rolled erosion control mat, Type 3, 2,000 S.Y.; erosion control sock, 2,600 L.F.; and miscellaneous related construction and appurtenances. Bidders must submit sealed bids before the stated deadline. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8. Successful bidders will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. The contractor must complete all work within 21 consecutive calendar days after commencing construction and no later than June 1, 2026. Liquidated damages of $400.00 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract term. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as it deems in its best interest. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, as lawfully required under Iowa statutes. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin.
