Chiller Replacement for PRCC Nursing Building. Sealed bids are invited for the chiller replacement at the Nursing Building, Pearl River Community College, Poplarville, MS. Bids may be submitted electronically or hand-delivered in sealed envelopes. Pearl River Community College reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, informalities, or irregularities, solicit new bids, or choose the bid deemed to be in its best interest. Minority business enterprises are encouraged to submit bids and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, sex, age, disability, or national origin. Question Deadline 03/20/2026 at 5:00 PM CT Submit questions in writing to the Owners designated contact Craig Tynes at Pearl River Community College at 601-590-2996 or via email at ctynes@prcc.edu. This Bid Package is intended for use by Pearl River Community College for soliciting sealed bids for the replacement of an air-cooled chiller serving the Nursing Building. Bidders shall review all divisions and include all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, fees, and coordination necessary to deliver a complete, fully operational installation Project Location: PRCC Poplarville Campus - Nursing Building (exact location of chiller and access routes to be verified by Bidder). o Work shall be coordinated with PRCC Facilities to minimize disruption to building operations and instruction schedules. o Contractor shall comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including OSHA requirements, EPA refrigerant handling requirements, and local permitting/inspection requirements. o Contractor shall maintain safe access, protect adjacent property, and keep the site orderly and clean. o Any planned shutdowns of chilled water service or electrical service shall be coordinated in advance with PRCC. 5.2 Equipment - Air-Cooled Chiller (Basis of Design) Furnish one (1) air-cooled packaged scroll chiller as described below. The Basis of Design is a Daikin Applied model AGZ190D (Air Cooled Scroll Chiller) with the configuration shown in the manufacturer order acknowledgement (Order No. 240530). Approved equals may be considered only if they meet or exceed all requirements in this section. o Unit Model: Daikin Applied AGZ190D air-cooled scroll compressor chiller (or approved equal). o Unit Size: 190D; package chiller; approximately twelve (12) fan units. o Refrigerant: R-410A; dual refrigerant circuits. o Electrical: 460V / 60Hz / 3PH; single-point power connection; across-the-line starting; single point disconnect switch and circuit breakers (as provided by manufacturer configuration). o Capacity and Efficiency (minimum): 180.1 tons @ 95F entering condenser air temperature / 44F leaving chilled fluid temperature; minimum 10.1 EER and 15.4 IPLV. Acoustics (minimum requirements): 60 Hz Sound Pressure (dB) 63 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000 Overall AWtd 69 71 69 67 64 61 61 58 70 60 Hz Sound Power (dB re 1012 W) 63 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000 Overall AWtd 96 98 96 94 91 88 88 85 97 If required, the chiller manufacturer shall provide the necessary sound treatment to meet these levels.Refrigeration and Components: o Electronic expansion valves (EEV) for capacity control. o Replaceable-core refrigerant filter-drier and sight glass with moisture indicator. o Liquid line solenoid valves. o Suction, liquid, and discharge shutoff valves (no exceptions). o Scroll compressors: total of six (6), three (3) per circuit. Controls and Communications: o Microprocessor-based unit controller (MicroTech III or equal) with clear-language display; displays consisting solely of alpha-numeric codes are not acceptable. o BACnet MS/TP communications interface for integration with Owner's Building Automation System (BAS). Evaporator: o Shell-and-tube evaporator, insulated with double-layer 1-1/2" insulation (minimum). o Evaporator heads: left-hand connections (or as required for field piping orientation). o Thermal dispersion solid-state water flow sensor; water flow indication on evaporator. Condenser Coil and Corrosion Protection: o Aluminum fin / copper tube condenser coil with factory-applied corrosion protection (e.g., ElectroFin or phenolic epoxy) with a minimum 1,000-hour salt spray rating per ASTM B117. o Condenser coil louvers / hail guards and base frame grilles (or equivalent physical protection). Fans and Ambient Controls: o Low ambient head pressure control including variable speed condenser fan control (minimum: one (1) fan VFD per circuit) suitable for at least -10F minimum outdoor ambient operation (or better). o Control box ambient package with vents and fans suitable for 110F outdoor ambient (OAT) or higher (or better). Electrical Protection and Vibration Isolation: o Phase and under/over voltage protection with indication (LED or display). o Rubber-in-shear isolators furnished by chiller manufacturer for mounting on existing foundation. Warranty, Startup, and Service Support: o Factory startup: domestic startup by the equipment manufacturer and functional testing. o Warranty: minimum one (1) year parts and labor for entire unit, and minimum five (5) years compressor parts warranty. Warranty repairs shall be performed by the equipment manufacturer or authorized service provider using OEM components. o Manufacturer shall have an authorized service office within 100 miles of PRCC and a minimum of five (5) factory trained service technicians available for on-site emergency response within four (4) hours. o Manufacturer shall have a local stocking parts location within 100 miles of PRCC.
