The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools and other services necessary for asphalt repaving and reconstruction, including grading, concrete curb and gutter replacement, asphalt pavement, ADA curb ramps, pavement markings, and work incidental thereto along Center Street from N 111th Street to N 118th Street, all in accordance with contract documents. All proposals must be submitted in electronic format together with a bid bond equal to five percent of the bid, payable to the City of Wauwatosa, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the successful bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bonds within ten days after notification of award. Failure to execute the contract and required bonds within ten days will result in annulment of the award and forfeiture of the proposal guarantee as liquidated damages. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty days after the bid opening. The right to reject or accept any or all bids and to waive any informality in bidding is reserved to the City of Wauwatosa. A required "Affidavit of Compliance" must be submitted with the bid. All work is to be substantially completed by August 15, 2026. Liquidated damages will be assessed for every calendar day of delay beyond the completion deadline, and additional costs will be charged for inspection required after the time of completion has expired. Pre-qualification requirements: Bidder prequalification is required on forms furnished by the City of Wauwatosa and must be submitted to the City Engineer. Prequalification forms submitted after five days preceding the contract letting date may be cause for rejection of bids. Proof of responsibility as required by Section 66.09, Wisconsin Statutes, must be furnished.
