The Town of Fort Gay is soliciting sealed bids from qualified solid waste haulers to provide residential and limited commercial trash collection services. Services include weekly curbside solid waste collection for approximately 278 residential customers, with the town reserving the right to adjust the number of customers as needed. Each household is permitted up to six 13-gallon bags per week. The bidder is also required to provide, place, and service two four-yard dumpsters for town use, specifically at designated locations such as the Water Plant and Aliff Heights. All collected waste must be lawfully transported and disposed of at a permitted facility. The bidder is responsible for maintaining customer service, resolving missed pickups within 24 hours (except Sundays and holidays), tracking and reporting complaints monthly with resolution times, and providing monthly reports on customers served, complaints, and missed pickups. Bidders must use roadworthy, insured vehicles equipped with spill, noise, and leak prevention measures. Furthermore, all required state and local permits for solid waste hauling and disposal must be held, and the necessary levels of insurance must be maintained. Pricing should be provided for weekly and monthly residential service, dumpster service, extra bag/overage fees, and bulk item pickup if offered. Bidders are required to comply with all relevant equal employment and non-discrimination laws.
