Site work for a transportation facility in Butler, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials and performing all work in strict accordance with the plans and specifications for Runway 01 Obstruction Removal at the Butler Municipal Airport, Butler, Georgia. All notations must be in ink, and each item on the bid form requires the price to be shown in both numerals and words. A Bidder's bond in the amount of 5% of the total proposal must accompany each proposal. A 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond are required at contract execution, with all bonds countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent from a qualified surety company. The successful bidder will be required to provide the affidavit required by OCGA 36-91-21(e) Competitive Award Requirements. All work must be completed within sixty (60) calendar days from the notice to proceed. Liquidated damages for delays will be $1,000 per calendar day. Payment will be made monthly on completed work, with retainage held to a maximum of ten percent (10%) of each progress payment. Bids will only be considered from bidders and subcontractors currently prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Contractors must be on the plan holders list, having received plans and contract documents from the Engineer. Bids must remain open for acceptance or rejection for 120 calendar days after opening. Buy American Preferences apply; all steel and manufactured products must be produced in the United States. Other regulations and requirements include Foreign Trade Restriction, Governmentwide debarment and suspension, drug-free workplace, and the Davis-Bacon Act. Bidders must make good faith efforts to subcontract to small disadvantaged business enterprises and provide documentation if goals are not met. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with and participating in a federal work authorization program in accordance with O.C.G.A. 13-10-91. The Taylor County Board of Commissioners assures compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, ensuring nondiscrimination for disadvantaged business enterprises.
