The Planning Division is in the process of completing updates of the sewer basin models to all-pipes versions of the models. Soon, the Planning Division will have 22 sewer models in InfoWorks ICM. All models have been calibrated using permanent flow meter data within the last 10 years. The models contain all gravity sewer pipes, force mains, and wastewater pumping stations in the sewer network. The models are used to evaluate the capacity of the sewer system to convey existing and future dry and wet weather flows. Wet weather conditions are simulated under 2-year and 10-year WSSC design storms. Future flows are developed using demographic projections provided by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Request for Proposal for design services is underway.
