The City of Snohomish is seeking a contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the 13th Street and Park Avenue Intersection Improvements in Snohomish, WA. The work includes construction of new sidewalk, curb ramp, curb and gutter, paving, storm pipes, fire hydrants and associated water piping, flashing crosswalk beacons, permanent signing, and pavement markings as shown on the project plans and specified in the technical provisions. The scope also includes saw cutting, surface restoration, and other associated work. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the grand total amount of the bid proposal, and a list of subcontractors. A one hundred percent (100%) Contractor's Performance and Payment Bond is required, to be delivered within ten (10) working days after notification of award to the successful bidder. A contract must be executed and returned to the City of Snohomish within ten (10) working days after notification of award. A certificate of liability insurance, specifically naming the City of Snohomish as an additional insured, must also be furnished within ten (10) working days after notice of award. The contractor may not commence work until all required insurance is approved by the City. The contractor is required to begin work within ten (10) working days after Notice to Proceed is issued and must complete construction within forty (40) working days. Liquidated damages will apply if the work is not physically completed within the allotted days. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in the bid or opening.
