Remodeling of a municipal facility in San Luis Obispo, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a municipal facility.
Sealed bids are required for the entire work described in the contract documents for the specified public works project, to be submitted before the stated deadline. Bids must be made under sealed cover, clearly marked, and include the bid amount, a cash or certified/cashier’s check, or a bidder’s bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The successful bidder must furnish payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, issued by a California admitted surety insurer. Bidders must possess either a Class B license or a combination of Class C licenses that together cover the majority of the work at the time the contract is awarded. When holding a combination of Class C licenses, work outside the bidder’s specialties must be performed by appropriately licensed subcontractors. All contractors and subcontractors must be currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public works. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations, and all workers must be paid not less than the prevailing wage rates established by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Addenda to the contract documents will be posted on the County's purchasing website, and all bidders are required to acknowledge and confirm receipt of each addendum in their bid proposals. Requests for information must be submitted in writing through the Purchasing website no later than five business days prior to the bid opening date. The successful bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld to ensure contract performance or may request that retention be paid to an escrow agent. In accordance with Executive Order N-6-22, economic sanctions against Russia or Russian entities and individuals will be enforced, and such ties may result in termination of the agreement.
