Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the construction of a 86,479-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
The scope of work is the construction of a new two story, 86,479 square foot high school for grades 8-12, including a storm shelter. The building will be a load bearing masonry structure with a metal joist roof structure, PVC roofing, masonry veneer, metal wall panels, aluminum window systems, and new site elements. Major systems to be included are Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Voice/Data. Work is divided into individual trade bid packages including General Trades, Masonry, Structural Steel, Roofing, Storefronts/Curtain Walls/Windows, Gypsum Board & Ceilings, Resilient Flooring, Terrazzo Flooring, Resinous Epoxy Flooring, Painting, Food Service, Elevator, Fire Suppression, HVAC & Plumbing, Electrical, Testing/Balancing/Lubrication/Adjustment, Commissioning of Mechanical, Casework, Asphalt Paving, and a Combination Bid. Instructions to bidders include: - Bids will be received on a lump sum basis per individual trade package and must be submitted on the official form found in the specification manual, in a sealed envelope with proper identification. - A 5% bid bond or certified check for 5% of the bid is required with the proposal. A 100% performance and payment bond is required upon award. - The owner intends to purchase major materials through direct purchase orders for items of $5,000 or greater, and these amounts should be included in the bid, excluding tax. Contractors are to pay sales tax on materials they purchase and pay for directly. - Bids must be guaranteed for sixty days and may not be withdrawn during this period, except in person before closing. - Bids will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all requirements of the solicitation. Davis-Bacon Wage Rates apply. - The Carter County Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any bid in its best interest according to applicable laws and regulations.
