Remodeling of an educational facility in Smithfield, Utah. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.
CCSD is soliciting bids for the removal and proper disposal of asbestos-containing floor tile and asbestos-containing mastic at Sky View High. Areas include red areas (asbestos-containing tile and mastic), blue areas (non-asbestos flooring installed over asbestos-containing mastic; both layers must be removed), and non-asbestos stair treads which are included in the Base Bid removal. Classrooms B206 and B207 are not part of this project and shall be excluded from all work. All quantities shall be field verified by the contractor. The contractor is responsible for verifying quantities and existing conditions. No adjustment to the Base Bid will be made due to discrepancies in measured quantities unless authorized by the District through a formal change order. All work must comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101, EPA NESHAP 40 CFR 61 Subpart M, Utah Administrative Code R307-801, and all applicable permitting and disposal regulations. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, containment systems, disposal, and documentation. The contractor must attend the mandatory pre-bid walkthrough, submit a project-specific work plan, identify removal methods and chemical products (with SDS), obtain required notifications and permits, and provide proof of licensing and training. If chemical or solvent-based products are proposed, they must be identified in advance, and the removal and neutralization process described. The final substrate must be free of oily or bond-inhibiting residue. A mockup area (50 100 SF) must be completed prior to production removal, demonstrating removal method, chemical neutralization (if applicable), and final substrate standards. District review and approval of the mockup are required prior to continuation. Final acceptance requires successful clearance by the District environmental consultant, acceptance of substrate condition, and completion of all documentation. Question Deadline 03/11/2026 at 2:00 PM MT online submission.
