Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in New York, New York. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project includes providing complete construction services for the renovation and expansion of approximately 2,300 square feet of parking lot area, including demolition, site preparation, grading, drainage installation, pavement replacement, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, striping, signage, lighting, and electrical work. Work consists of removing existing pavement, gravel, curbs, sidewalks, wheel stops, signage, and striping; regrading the site to ensure proper drainage; compacting subgrade to required density; installing new aggregate subbase; and placing new asphalt or concrete pavement in accordance with project specifications. The contractor must install or modify drainage systems, catch basins, trench drains, swales, or underground piping to comply with EPA stormwater rules and municipal requirements. The work includes full ADA-compliant parking spaces, signage, slopes, ramps, detectable warnings, and pedestrian access surfaces. The project requires replacing or installing curbs, sidewalks, pavement markings, new traffic and ADA signage, wheel stops, and bollards. The contractor must also furnish and install two new LED electronic message signs, including removal and disposal of existing signs, and must ensure full integration with existing or upgraded electrical, communications, networking, and guard-shack monitoring systems. The contractor is responsible for evaluating and upgrading communication infrastructure as needed, and must provide a minimum of two years of cellular service for the system after final acceptance. Construction includes all electrical work such as demolition, relocations, lighting systems, conduit and wiring, low-voltage and data connections, communications equipment, controllers, grounding and bonding, testing, and commissioning. A parking study must be delivered, along with corrections to existing wayfinding, and installation of updated on-site signage for building and department identification. The contractor must prepare and maintain safety zones, provide dust control, site fencing, and required traffic control measures, and coordinate access with facility management to avoid interference with normal operations. All disposal must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, with contractor-provided dumpsters for bulk waste. The contractor must measure rock excavation, with 3,500 CY included in the base bid, and adjustments made per applicable contract clauses for overruns or underruns. All construction work must comply with VA specifications and design guides and applicable NFPA, NEC, AISC, ACI, AWS, ADA/ABA, AASHTO, ASTM, OSHA, State DOT, EPA SWPPP, and FAR Subpart 36 standards. Deliverables include a safety plan, phasing schedule, stormwater management plan, shop drawings, product submittals, daily logs, weekly progress reports, final inspection checklists, as-built drawings, and warranty documentation. The contractor must utilize the Autodesk Build (Autodesk Construction Cloud) platform for all project communication, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and required documentation, and must complete mandatory training upon award. A minimum one-year warranty on workmanship and materials is required, along with manufacturer warranties for asphalt or concrete mixes, striping, and signage. The performance period is 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Location: James J.
