Site work for a power facility in Lubbock, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a power facility.

The SWIFT Facility, located approximately ten miles west of Lubbock, TX on the Texas Tech University Reese National Security Complex, is to be decommissioned by July 2026. The decommissioning involves the removal of three research-modified Vestas V27 wind turbines and two meteorological towers. Each turbine has a 32.5-meter hub height, with tower weights approximately 13 tons and nacelle mass about 8.5 tons. The MET towers are 58.5 meters tall, with instrumentation at 10, 18, 31.5, 45, and 58.5 meters. The concrete foundations for the METs are to be removed, along with guy wire anchors. The turbine foundations are to remain, with tower bolts cut flush with the turbine foundations and grouted. Additionally, old research blades currently stored at an office/warehouse located approximately five miles from the complex are to be loaded and disposed of by the Subcontractor. The rotors from the wind turbines will be removed prior to the Subcontractor arriving onsite. Contractors must follow the 10 CFR 851 Worker Safety and Health Program and applicable OSHA safety and construction requirements as described in the Contract Specific Safety Plan.
