Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fontana, California. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Construction of a new ADA-compliant accessible ramp and associated site improvements between Units A and E. Work shall include, but is not limited to, demolition as required, grading, concrete work, handrails, detectable warning surfaces, and any related improvements necessary to ensure compliance with current ADA and California Building Code accessibility standards. Additionally, contractor shall remove and reconfigure accessible parking stalls within Parking Lot A and any related improvements to ensure the parking area meets current accessibility requirements. Fontana Unified School District is seeking bids for the construction of an ADA Accessible Ramp at Cypress Elementary. Bids must be submitted through the designated e-procurement portal. Questions regarding the project must also be submitted through the portal. A mandatory job walk or pre-bid conference will be held, and all timelines and submission details must be followed as specified. This project is being let in accordance with the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act ("CUPCCAA") set forth in Public Contract Code section 22000 et seq. Bidders shall comply with any requirements set forth in the CUPCCAA including all guidelines and requirements in the current California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Commission Cost Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual. License Classification: B Contract Time: 30 Days Allowance/ Alternates: Yes Liquidated Damages: $500.00 per calendar day Each bidder's bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: (1) cash; (2) a cashier's check made payable to the DISTRICT; (3) a certified check made payable to the DISTRICT; or (4) a bidder's bond executed by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, made payable to the DISTRICT in the form set forth in the contract documents. Such bidder's security must be in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract, if the same is awarded to such bidder, and will provide the required Performance and Payment Bonds and insurance certificates. In the event of failure to enter into said contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. Bond Requirements. Prior to commencing any portion of the Work, the Contractor shall furnish separate payment and performance bonds for its portion of the Work which shall cover 100% faithful performance of and payment of all obligations arising under the Contract Documents and/or guaranteeing the payment in full of all claims for labor performed and materials supplied for the Work. All bonds shall be provided by a corporate surety authorized and admitted to transact business in California as sureties. To the extent, if any, that the Contract Price is increased in accordance with the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall, upon request of the District, cause the amount of the bonds to be increased accordingly and shall promptly deliver satisfactory evidence of such increase to the District. To the extent available, the bonds shall further provide that no change or alteration of the Contract Documents (including, without limitation, an increase in the Contract Price, as referred to above), extensions of time, or modifications of the time, terms, or conditions of payment to the Contractor will release the surety. If the Contractor fails to furnish the required bonds, the District may terminate the Contract for cause. Surety Qualifications. Only bonds executed by admitted Surety insurers as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120 shall be accepted. Surety must be a California-admitted surety and listed by the U.S. Treasury with a bonding capacity in excess of the Project cost. Alternate Surety Qualifications. If a California-admitted surety insurer issuing bonds does not meet these requirements, the insurer will be considered qualified if it is in conformance with section 995.660 of the California Code of Civil Procedure and proof of such is provided to the District.
