The work consists of the lining of approximately 14,200 feet of sanitary sewer and related work in Urbandale east of 86th Street and south of Meredith Drive, as well as various locations in Windsor Heights. The 2026 SEWER LINING PROGRAM includes installation of approximately 12,600 linear feet of 8-inch continuous sewer liner, 1,400 linear feet of 10-inch continuous sewer liner, and 250 linear feet of 12-inch continuous sewer liner. The project also includes pre-rehabilitation cleaning and inspection, additional sewer cleaning, removal of protruding service connections, building service reinstatements, and traffic control. Contractors are to fully complete the project by December 31, 2026. Bidders must file sealed proposals before the designated due date and time. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security equal to 10% of the total bid amount, in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, certified share draft, or bid bond as specified. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Payment to the contractor will be based on verified monthly estimates, with 97% of the contract value of work completed paid monthly, and the balance paid in accordance with state requirements. Contractors and subcontractors should not include sales tax for material purchases and will be issued a certificate of exemption at contract acceptance. A preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. A resident bidder preference will be allowed as required by Iowa law.
